Salvation History
God is good! I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to speak to the confirmation class at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Houston, TX today. I challenged them to prepare themselves to live the faith, to make it their own and not their parents or teachers… to be […]
This week on “Behold The Man”, an evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, only Jonah will be given them! We enter into the depths of Christ’s death, and stay with him for 3days in the belley of Sheoul, to arise with him in newness of life. We are exploring […]
This week on “Behold The Man”, being inspired by an article From Jean Cardinal Danielou, S.J. entitled: "The Sacraments And the History of Salvation"; we dive deep into the living-flowing waters of creation, cleansing and redemption to find the power and beauty of the Sacrament of Baptisim!
This week on "Behold The Man", we look back through the mountain and mediators of Salvation history to see what they all had in common. Then we look at how it is all perfected in the NEW mountain, the ROCK of St. Peter.
Why? Why did God have to take on flesh and dwell among us? Why did he have to suffer and die in order to redeem us? Answer, LOVE, a complete gift of self... it's what the first Adam failed to do, and the last Adam did to perfection! Much of this talk is based upon Dr. Scott Hahn's work in "First Comes Love", and "A Father Who Keeps His Promises". I would encourage you to read both of those books for MUCH more detail. The video & audio quality is not the best however, due to "user error"... I failed to record the audio... this is now the only copy I have of this talk given to the St. Thomas More Society at the University of Houston Law Center.
Today, on “Behold The Man” we see how Jacob fathered his 12 sons… not quite the “text-book” approach you would hope for in a patriarch of the people of God. Stocked full of wives, children, and live stock… Jacob makes off with his riches for the land of his father; […]
Today, on “Behold the Man” we continue in our study of “A Father who keeps His promies”, chapter 6, looking at how Jacob meets Rachel his wife. We see the comparisons to the Woman at the Well in John 4 and the Marriage feast opf the Lamb in Revelation 21 […]
Today, on "Behold the Man" we talk about the 30 day challenge for marriage. We also look at what marriage is, what it is NOT. We take a quick trip through salvation history to see how it began and how it ended up... then how, our Lord raised it to a new level.
Today, on "Behold the Man" we look at a very tough question; how can I proclaim the Catholic Church when there are so many problems with it? The answer is simple... the Church itself is a gift from God. We take a quick journey through salvation history to see how Jesus perfects the Church and gives us the Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and sacraments as life and light for a dark world.
